The Ferrari 488 GTB arrived in Mumbai 26-feb with its launch at Ferrari’s official Navnit dealership in BKC, Mumbai. The carmaker has priced the car at a whopping Rs 3.88 crore (ex-showroom), same as the prices in New Delhi. Check out these pictures of the car as Ferrari fans and enthusiasts greeted the arrival of the supercar with open arms.
The Ferrari 488 GTB was first unveiled globally at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and now has made its way to India exactly after a year. The GTB in the car's moniker stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta and the 488 represents the engine's unitary displacement. The appearance of the 488 is more of an evolution of the Ferrari 458's design, which in itself was highly acclaimed for its remarkable styling.
The 488 GTB is a successor of the Ferrari 458. It is designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre and retains the clean, pure lines typical of Ferrari’s legendary design.
For aerodynamic efficiency and cooling, there are large intakes to channel air through the sculpted nose towards the side. The side vents help in cooling the new engine components effectively.
Just liked the revised fascia, there are revised tail lamps and a slightly redesigned air outlet at the back. The rear look is completed by a 458 Speciale-esque rear diffuser with dual exhausts.
Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.9-litre engine, the Ferrari 488 GTB gets a humongous power output of 660bhp at 8,000 rpm and 760Nm at 3,000 rpm.The super car, which has a top speed of 330kmph, is one of the fastest street legal cars available all around the globe . With 100bhp of more power than the 458, the 488 GTB's powerplant enables the car to do the 0 to 100kmph sprint in just 3 seconds. Customers get a wide variety of customisable options to make their car even more unique. Every element in the car has a reference to its deep roots in Ferrari history.
